Melissa Milewski's research interests include the intersections of race and the law, legal history, women and the law, slavery and Reconstruction, the U.S. South, African American History, 19th and 20th U.S. history, the U.S. in transatlantic perspective, race and ethnicity in U.S. history, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the history of women and gender.
